In this lecture, Dr Lloyd will give an overview of his past talks at Otago starting with the “End of Oil” talk in 2005, followed by the “Growth Delusion Series” from 2008, and “Gen Zero’s: Cheer up Bob Lecture” from 2011.
Dr Lloyd will discuss climate change science and review the present situation as given in the IPCC 2014 report, and then the IPCC 1.5 report. The global climate change problem will be looked at in terms of a “hard problem” as defined by Limits to Growth author, Dennis Meadows. This situation can be illustrated by the current debate among environmentalists.
