The main topic and the majority of this video I talk about another YouTuber's video on how she was ashamed that India was doing these things for so long after India had gained its independence from Britain. At the end of the video, I offer my two cents on why I think events unfolded the way they did and the reason you didn't necessarily see a complete cleansing of all things British in India. The biggest reason I believe there wasn't a "clean house" moment in India is because there wasn't a war fought between the two sides. Also, I think the British were trying to protect their economic interests and try to leave India on as good of terms as possible. That might have worked.
In comparison to the Dutch and how they handled things post WW2, they tried to come back to Indonesia and reclaim their colony. A bloody 4-year war ensued and in the end Indonesia won its independence. Other than the old crumbling colonial buildings, you'd be really hard-pressed to find any trace of the Dutch colonial past in Indonesia these days.
In the end, both countries gained their independence and now are free of their colonial oppressors, and that's all that matters.
