If you need to insert the degrees symbol (°) into a Word document, a Google Document, or any other software, here's how you can do that. Since I rarely need to do this I always forget how. Rather than muck about with unicode or scroll through long lists of Wingding fonts, here's what I do.
Go to the search engine you prefer and search on "degrees symbol". Alternatively you can just use the one below:

Then find an instance of the degrees symbol in the search results and copy it. Note, it is best to copy a symbol that isn't hyperlinked. You can paste the degree symbol into your document and then format to fit your needs. For example, 100°C or 212°F.
