It's been 8000 years since the story of NieR: RepliCant. Ever since 5012 A.D. there is a continuous war of humanity against aliens and their army of intelligent machines. Machines drive out people, and the remnants of humanity are forced to seek shelter on the moon, continuing the struggle. The last hope of humanity is YoRHa, a new kind of androids, elite fighters.
11945 A.D. The struggle for the Earth continues. The 14th Machine War has been fought for the past six years. One of these operations involves our main characters - 2B and 9S.
