Connect to a Modicon PLC from a Windows XP Virtual Machine - Virtualbox 6.1
I show you how I have been able to go online with a Modicon Compact 984 PLC using ProWorx NXT and a Windows XP virtual machine running on Virtualbox.
This computer is VT-x and VT-d capable, and those features were enabled in the BIOS during this testing.
This is important for me because Modbus is very prevalent in my plant, but the ability to install native Windows XP is going away.
This test was done after installing the Guest Additions in the VM, and I think that will be a required step, but this is not a Virtualbox instructional video so I left out that detail.
I was able to migrate my VM to a laptop with Virtualbox on it and it also worked using the same version of Virtualbox.
