In my opinion, the new 5700G is a good alternative if you can't install an external GPU, because you want to build a tiny machine or you don't do much gaming.
For those who really want to play games, I would rather recommend a Ryzen 5 5600X with a cheap GPU that you can upgrade over time. This way you are more future-proof because you have an upgrade path and more performance.
