There are three major publicly traded payment gateway companies – PayPal, Square, and Adyen. All of these stocks have fallen meaningfully, but Adyen Stock $ADYEN has proven to be the most resilient, perhaps because of their geographic diversification. ARK Invest recently sold PayPal stock $PYPL to focus more on Square stock – er… Block Stock $SQ. That’s a company we think shouldn’t be counting bitcoins as part of their revenues. We look at key metrics for all three payments companies including total payment volume, valuation, and performance. Now that PayPal shares have floated back down to earth, would we consider swapping out our Adyen holding in exchange for a position in the world’s leader in payment gateways? If that’s something we decide to do, Nanalyze Premium annual subscribers will be the first to know.
