Valkyries - The Grim Reapers of the Viking Battlefields - Norse Mythology
In Norse mythology, the valkyries were the female deities also named "dark angels of death" who had the ungrateful role of deciding who lives and who perishes in battle, and bring them into Valhalla to Odin to fight in Ragnarok, or to Freya on the Fólkvangr field.
They were practically the Grim Reapers of the Viking battlefields.
