Toyota Accomplishes World's First Autonomous Drift With Self-Driving GR Gupra
Autonomous driving just became rad, as the Toyota Research Institute today revealed that it has successfully managed to program a vehicle to drift around obstacles on a closed track on its own.
The world-first autonomous drift may sound like a publicity stunt, but Toyota is actually taking it very seriously. The vehicle combines a lot of very advanced technology, including TRI's Nonlinear Model Predictive Control, to operate a vehicle beyond the limits of control.
