Fire mitigation efforts at Los Alamos National Laboratory
Building on lessons learned from the Las Conchas fire, Los Alamos National Laboratory's Wildland Fire team has actively managed the forest around the Lab property for many years. Fire mitigation efforts greatly increased during the last three years. Those efforts have continued during the Cerro Pelado fire in order to protect facilities and the surrounding communities.
