How to Set Valorant to High CPU Priority Automatically | Boost FPS & Reduce Lag
Tthis tutorial, I’ll show you how to permanently set Valorant to High CPU Priority for better performance using the Windows Registry. No need to manually change it every time—this method makes it automatic!
⚠ Warning: Editing the registry can cause system issues if done incorrectly. Always back up your registry before making changes!
Steps Covered in This Video:
1️⃣ Check Current Priority
Open Task Manager and go to Details tab.
Right-click on valorant.exe and check the priority (default: Normal).
2️⃣ Open Registry Editor
Press the Windows key, type Registry Editor, and open it.
3️⃣ Navigate to the Registry Path
Expand HKEY Local Machine
Expand Software
Expand Microsoft
Expand Windows NT
Expand CurrentVersion
Locate Image File Execution Options
4️⃣ Create Registry Keys
Right-click Image File Execution Options, select New ... Key, and name it valorant.exe.
Inside valorant.exe, create another key named PerfOptions.
Inside PerfOptions, right-click, choose New ... DWORD (32-bit) Value, name it CPUPriorityClass.
Double-click CPUPriorityClass, set the value to 4, and press OK.
5️⃣ Apply Changes & Test
📒NOTE: in older OS, The value "4" is high and newer OS "3" value is High Priority. tweak between.
Close Registry Editor and restart Valorant.
Open Task Manager again and check if the priority is set to High.
If not, change CPUPriorityClass from 4 to 3 and restart Valorant again.
6️⃣ (Optional) Apply to VALORANT-Win64-Shipping.exe
Repeat the same steps for VALORANT-Win64-Shipping.exe inside Image File Execution Options.
Now, Valorant will always launch with High Priority automatically, reducing lag and improving FPS!
