Ferrari arrived at the end of the April break with the upgrade package of the season. On Wednesday April twenty second, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton completed two hundred kilometres of track time at the Autodromo di Monza in a filming day that was described by Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur as a critical data gathering exercise. The car on track was the SF Twenty Six, featuring an updated front wing, a revised floor, new Halo mounted aero fins, and the most controversial aerodynamic component of the season so far, the Macarena rotating rear wing. Early estimates from inside Maranello suggest the wing alone could deliver a gain of eight to ten kilometres per hour in straight line speed when the aerodynamic elements are opened. Reports from inside Ferrari describe the test as, in their own words, going very well. And for a team that is currently forty five points behind Mercedes in the constructors championship and has not won a single race so far in two thousand and twenty six, that is the kind of update that could completely reshape the rest of the season.
