Receiving NOAA weather satellite with radio scanner
Here I'm receiving the NOAA 15 weather satellite at 137.620 MHz with my Standard AX-700 radio scanner, a broadband indoor antenna, a bandpass filter, and a broadband antenna amplifier. The free software "Wxtoimg" converts the radio signal into a graphical weather map. I can view the satellite's trajectory with the free program "Satellite Tracker." There's also the "Google Earth" feature, which lets me fly over the Earth from the satellite's perspective. Very fun ;-)
