What Rose From the Floor in the Shipwreck Room?
On July 5, 2024, a motion detector inside the Shipwreck Room at the Antilles Trading Company Pirate Museum captured an unusual event.
The Shipwreck Room houses artifacts recovered from the famous 1715 and 1733 Fleet shipwrecks and has long been one of the museum's most active areas after hours.
In this footage, a large orb-like object appears near the floor and slowly rises toward the ceiling, triggering the motion detector as it moves through the room.
When reviewing the footage, we considered whether the object could have been an insect. However, its apparent size, movement, and upward path from floor to ceiling did not seem consistent with what we would normally expect to see.
Whether there is a simple explanation or something more unusual at work, the motion detector captured the event just before midnight while the museum was closed and empty.
