WHAT SHOULD THOSE WHOSE RESIDENCE PERMITS WERE REJECTED DO? (Residence Permit Rejection 2022)
If you've applied for a residence permit and your application is rejected, you won't be able to get your expenses and taxes back, which you won't be able to recover. We recommend paying attention to the type of residence permit you're applying for.
So, what can you do if you've come to Turkey and applied for a residence permit for the first time and your application is rejected?
First of all, you can't apply for the same type of residence permit for six months. However, if your visa hasn't expired, meaning you still have the legal right to stay in Turkey, you can apply for a residence permit appropriate to your purpose.
For example, if you applied for a short-term tourist residence permit and your application was rejected, and your visa is still valid, you can apply for a student residence permit if you enroll in a university, or for a family residence permit if you marry a Turkish citizen. If your visa has expired, unfortunately, you're considered an illegal immigrant. If your rejection was for a legitimate reason, your chances of winning a court case are very low. What can foreigners in this situation do to legalize their visa? First of all, if our foreign citizens whose visas have expired depart within three months of their visa expiration date and pay the penalty fee, they will not be banned from entering Turkey. You can enter Turkey the next day or a few days later. Upon arrival, you can enter Turkey with a 10-day conditional entry permit and then re-apply for a different type of residence permit within 10 days. It's important to note that you will have a 10-day period, and you must obtain a residence permit suitable for your purposes within this short period.
