It only takes 2-3 mins, and the only thing you’ll need to open the can is a flat rough surface like a large rock or a concrete sidewalk.

Here's how:

Step 1: Hold the can firmly and turn it upside down so the sealed end is against the rough surface.

Step 2: Rub the can back and forth against the surface as if you were scrubbing the floor. This will create friction and thin down the can lid.

Step 3. Once the seal is sufficiently worn down, check the edges of the lid. You should notice that the seal is starting to break, weaken, and begin to leak.

Step 4: If it's still difficult to open, continue rubbing the can against the rough surface until the seal is completely broken.

Step 5: Use any tools on hand to carefully pry the lid open, watching out for any sharp edges.

That’s it! You've successfully opened a can using a rough surface or rock.

The only thing that’s left for you to do is to clean up the mess you may have created while opening the can with this method.

Remember, this technique may require some practice, but it's a valuable skill to have in your arsenal.

My personal favorite can opener is the OXO Good Grips Smooth Edge Can Opener. It's a bit different than a normal opener, but it works wonders and we bring it on every camping trip: https://amzn.to/4bAfMdJ

Many, many commenters on our last video recommended getting a P-38 military-style can opener. You can find them here: https://amzn.to/3X42yl2
