Want to quickly and easily transfer your project to a PLC? In this video, I’ll show you exactly how to do it using an MMC card — no hassle, no complicated steps!
First, I introduce the essential hardware you’ll need: an MMC card, a USB hub, and a card reader. One super important tip: never format your MMC using Windows! Just delete old files if needed — formatting could corrupt your card for PLC use.
Then, I guide you through the correct method to set up your MMC via the TIA Portal: selecting the right card type (“Transfer”) to ensure your project moves safely from your computer to your PLC. Whether you’re moving from office to factory, or dealing with a locked PLC you can't access due to a forgotten password, the transfer method has you covered. (Yes, you can even factory-reset a PLC with it!)
Next, I walk you through the actual steps: 🔹 Drag and drop your program to the "Load" folder. 🔹 Insert the MMC into the PLC (make sure the switch is set to "up"). 🔹 Power on the PLC and wait for the flashing light (copying in progress!). 🔹 Once done, reboot, and your PLC is ready to run your uploaded project.
This method saves tons of time, reduces errors, and is life-saving when remote access isn’t available!
👉 If you’ve ever struggled with transferring a project to a PLC, this method will change your game.
