Comet 3i Atlas is SPINNING - I took a picture
Comet 3I ATLAS is showing something truly surprising tonight — it appears to be spinning, and the rotation is visible through the motion of its dust, gas, and colorful coma. I processed multiple frames from my observatory in Leander, Texas, and the structure clearly twists and shifts as the comet races across the sky.
The colors, the core movement, and the shape of the coma all change frame by frame, revealing a dynamic and unusual behavior. This comet keeps getting stranger every night, and the spinning effect makes it even more fascinating to watch.
I captured and processed the full sequence using the RASA-11 setup, and this video shows the rotation, color changes, and evolving tail structure in detail.
