Live Another Life’s Skyrim modder to delete his work from Nexus Mods.
Arthmoor, the modder responsible for Open Cities, as well as other famous mods, is going to pull his work, as a sign of protest against the recent policy changes.
The mod-hosting site announced that user-uploaded files cannot be deleted for the future creation of other features.
Modders who want to retain ownership over their work, have been allowed to delete their mods until August 5.
He wrote on his Nexus mods’ profile: "Here's to hoping that current efforts by several parties to launch sites that honor a mod author's legal right to delete their content take hold and provide some badly needed competition in this space."
Arthmoor is the modder behind the Skyrim mod Alternate Start - Live Another Life, downloaded more than eight million times.
He also created Cutting Room Floor, Run For Your Lives, the Paarthurnax Dilemma, Open Cities and Ars Metallica - Smithing Enhancement.
The modder is responsible for Nexus’ mods for Oblivion and Morrowind, which will also be deleted from the site.
All his mods will remain available on AFK Mods, which allows mods to be deleted.
Nexus’s decision is to allow the creation of the collection feature, enabling users to put together similar mods to download simultaneously.
If a mod were to be deleted, it could flaw any collection it was a part of.
