Everyone has heard of the cs2 service medal. The cs2 service medal 2024, or service medal in general, is awarded whenever you reach rank 40 and you reset your rank to rank 1.
The csgo and cs2 service medal has six different levels represented by colors - level 1 is gray, level 2 is green, then blue, puruple, pink, and finally, level 6 is red.
All this means that to attain the red cs2 service medal you would have to rank up 240 levels in a single year so attaining such a csgo service medal is near impossible and that's why so many people are thought to be using boosting or other questionable services to attain the highest level of the service medals.
And, just as of late last year, there were some cs2 news about the people holding the level 6 cs2 service medal getting banned by Steam too.
In regards to the reasoning, the primary reason of concern would most likely be the reason I've discussed above - it's literally near impossible to get the cs2 service medal without boosting yourself or getting some kind of external assistance, so my guess would be that Steam is banning those people who got boosted to get this service medal, as boosting an account is also against the Terms of Service of the Steam platform.
Unsurprisingly, many of these Steam accounts also possess expensive cs2 skins such as dragon lores, sapphire and ruby knives, and similar cs2 skins, which may indicate commercial activity, which may also be against Steam's ToS. In early November, a Steam account with over $300,000 in cs2 skins got banned as well.
