Hey Everyone,

In this episode of The GeekNarrator podcast, I am joined by Denis Magda from YugabyteDB, who has vast experience in the world of Distributed databases. He has explained Postgres compatibility and its types in depth. More interestingly, we have demonstrated how applications can be migrated from a vanilla Postgres to a PostgresSQL compatible distributed database. We have taken 4 databases for the demo Google Spanner, Amazon Aurora, CockroachDB and YugabyteDB.

Here is the agenda:
00:00 Introduction
04:20 Why is PostgresSQL so popular?
12:45 What does PostgresSQL compatibility mean?
16:20 What are the different compatibility levels?
26:30 How does the migration work at a high level?
34:30 Demo time : Google Spanner, CockroachDB, Amazon Aurora and YugabyteDB
01:12:15 When should you use PostgresSQL vs Postgres compatible databases?
