Photographing Winter Wildlife. Visiting the river to photograph Dippers and other winter Birds
For years I had a hard time finding and photographing wildlife in the winter time. But the more I've learned about wildlife behavior and different species, the easier it becomes to find more of the beautiful animals that hang around for the winter. For the past two years, I've made a little tradition of finding and photographing American Dippers. Dippers are beautiful, charismatic birds that frequent rivers and streams. They're so fun to watch, it's something I never get tired of.
This week, I made it out again to photograph these wonderful little birds. Not only was I able to photograph Dippers, but I was also able to photograph some Sparrows and a Thrush. I even caught a glimpse of a Mink, but was unable to photograph it.
These peaceful mornings photographing wildlife have become so special to me, moments I've learned to truly cherish.
