In this tutorial, we configure a DHCP Server and Windows Deployment Services (WDS) on Windows Server 2019 — creating the network infrastructure needed to deploy Windows operating systems to bare-metal or virtual machines over the network, without physical media.
WDS combined with DHCP is the foundation of enterprise OS deployment. When a computer PXE boots, DHCP tells it where to find the WDS server, and WDS delivers the OS image.
What you will learn:
✅ Installing the DHCP Server role on Windows Server 2019
✅ Creating and activating a DHCP scope with the correct IP range
✅ Installing Windows Deployment Services (WDS)
✅ Configuring WDS for network OS deployment
✅ Linking WDS to your Active Directory domain
✅ Testing PXE boot from a network client
Who this is for: IT admins who manage large-scale Windows OS deployments using MDT, WDS, and DHCP in enterprise environments.
