This is a Test Video. It is unedited, uploaded from the original file from my phone. It is not for entertainment and is Boring, except maybe if you know the roads. I've uploaded it so my mates who's house I was driving back from might be interested, but probably not, and I've had a few problems with the mounting and I'm going to upload a few more to see if I can solve them. It's recorded with a Samsung Galaxy S3. Driving My Audi A4 Avant TDI.
The mount pivot points on the phone holder weren't tight so the holder and the phone were shaking a lot, especially at higher speed. The anti-shake (image stabilisation) didn't really deal with it that well. When you're standing in the same place and recording things as they past, the Anti-shake works well, but doing this, it doesn't do well. When I watched this, I thought it was because the phone was shaking so much. But in the next video I recorded today, I've tightened the phone holder and the anti-shake doesn't cope well when being used as a dash cam. I'm going to try a few other settings in the next few days, see if I can make it better.
All my trucking videos on here and on my other channel (user/SpikyHairedTruckerUK) have been recorded with a Samsung Galaxy S1 which was my normal every day phone. I've brought myself a Galaxy S3 more recently. I have carried on using the Galaxy S1 for my trucking videos. I've brought a 32GB memory card for the phone and videos are the only thing on there now I'm not using it as a normal phone and the other reason is the Galaxy S3 gets hot if you record for long periods of time, even if you knock it back to 720p. On the Galaxy S1 I used to record in less then 720p because of memory space issues, but I don't have that problem any more so it records in 720p and doesn't have any of the heat issues.
I have Heko Wind Deflectors on the front windows of my car, An Audi A4 B5 Avant. For some reason, they generate a lot of wind noise. I have Heko Wind Deflectors on the front windows of a 2003 VW Polo too, but that car doesn't generate the same wind noise.
