Minecraft Mosaic
Susie's Studio did some mosaic mentoring for a 2014 Year 6 Major Works Project. Minecraft graphics are made up of pixels. Mosaics are made up with glass squares... Perfect! This shovel was the easiest mosaic to create ever, with next to no finniky cutting and shaping of tiles- except for a few Flourescent tiles in tight corners that we adhered for cladding. We created Steve's face on a cardboard box, and you can look through his eyes to see the shovel glowing inside the box. What a great way to marry up an ancient artistic process to create an item that exists in the virtual world !
