The Psalter of David is a book of the Bible containing 150 psalms written by King David and other authors. The Psalter is part of the Old Testament and is important in Judaism and Christianity. The Psalms are poetic works expressing prayers, worship, praise, sincere feelings, and reflections on God.
A kathisma is one of the parts of the Psalter, which is divided into 20 kathismas. Each kathisma consists of several psalms, usually from 3 to 10. Kathismas were used for the daily reading and singing of psalms in church services, especially in the Orthodox and Catholic traditions. The first kathisma includes Psalms 1-8 and is widely used in prayer practice and worship.
David was an Israelite king and prophet mentioned in the Bible. He was chosen by God to lead and govern Israel. David became known for his courage, pastoral skills, musical talent, and deep faith in God.
