Today we're going to talk about a fundamental topic for the success of any architectural project: the positioning of the rooms. We'll understand how the building's layout on the plot, solar orientation, urbanization, and the coordination of these elements can create a balanced and comfortable environment.
To begin, let's talk about the building's layout and solar orientation. The correct location of the building on the plot is essential to ensure balanced daily sunlight. Through the organization of the floor plan, we can ensure that each room receives the appropriate amount of sunlight throughout the day.
Living areas and bedrooms should, whenever possible, face the garden and the sunny side. This creates more pleasant and healthy environments for residents, making the most of natural light.
Service areas, on the other hand, can face the street. During peak usage times, these areas should also be sunny, ensuring a functional and well-lit environment.
With a solar chart in hand, it's possible to accurately determine where the sun's rays should fall at different times and seasons of the year. This helps us decide on the ideal location for the building in relation to the cardinal points and to keep it away from possible obstructions, such as neighboring buildings and trees.
We cannot forget the main wind direction. In Porto Alegre, for example, the prevailing winds come from the east. Taking this into account in the design helps improve the natural ventilation of the rooms.
To ensure safety against future obstructions and preserve the view, it is ideal to choose plots of land whose neighbors, on the side facing the sun, have already been built. Thus, we can define the position of the house and its floor plan considering these elements and avoiding obstruction of the sun by later constructions.
These are some of the main considerations when positioning the rooms in an architectural project. I hope these tips help you create more comfortable and functional spaces. If you liked this video, don't forget to like, subscribe to the channel and share it with your friends.
