In the West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme the government announced to provide education loan @4% interest rate with zero collateral. However, most of the banks are charging interest as per he bank's normal education loan which ranges between 8% - 12%. To solve this problem, WB government has decided to give interest subsidy for the extra interest the students are paying.
Till date, there is no official notification about the subsidy, its eligibility criteria, payment date, application process, etc. Therefore, the loan applicants are confused and looking for the information. To solve this problem, I contacted the official helpline number of the WBSCC scheme at 1800 102 8014. Then, I asked them these questions and prepared a call recording.
