Hi friends, welcome to RNS. Today, we will talk about Intel’s Coffee Lake processors, which are set to be launched on 21 August. Let’s have a look.

Intel will launch its 8th generation Core processors, codenamed 'Coffee Lake', at 8:30pm Indian Standard Time on Monday, 21st August. Some PC manufacturers will also demonstrate desktops, laptops and 2-in-1 systems with built-in coffee lake processors. A point to be noted is that 2-in-1 system’s sales have skyrocketed this year.

The launch will be streamed live on Facebook, and is set to clash with a total solar eclipse, estimated to occur around the same time. Intel earlier promised that Coffee Lake will be better than the 7th generation Kaby Lake processor by 30 per cent.

Though Intel has not officially disclosed any specifications, it is believed that these chips would use 10 nm as well as 14 nm manufacturing processes. Intel might also introduce six-core mainstream desktop processors with the 8th generation.

Intel core i5 processors are believed to have a 3.5GHz base clock, 3.5GHz boost clock, 6 cores, 6 threads, a 1.5MB L2 cache and a 9MB L3 cache. While the clock speeds of the i7 processors have not been predicted yet, they are believed to have 6 cores, 12 threads, a 1.5MB L2 cache and a 12MB L3 cache.

We will get to know the exact details with the launch. So the first thing you must do after getting back from office on Monday is log into Facebook and visit the official Intel page.
