Today we are getting ready for one of the biggest jobs on the old farmhouse — the roof.
Before the real roof removal begins, we open up part of the 100-year-old stone slate roof to see what is hiding underneath. Old stone slates, wooden layers, and a better look at what we are actually dealing with before the restoration can move forward.
And of course, nothing on the farm goes completely to plan. While preparing for the roof work, the tractor starts giving us black smoke and a new problem to solve.
This is another step in restoring our abandoned farm on the west coast of Norway — slowly bringing old buildings, old timber, and forgotten history back to life.
