The entire range of lures used to equip a hook to attract and catch fish can be divided into two groups: natural and artificial.
Lures of animal origin are called baits, while those of plant origin are called hookbaits.
In spinning fishing, a bait is an imitation shaped like a fish.
Artificial lures are used to catch predatory fish (pike, trout) in any body of water and under any conditions. Artificial lures can be made of plastic (manufacturers include Salmo and Lucky John: wobblers, poppers, "dogs," darters, and twisters), metal (spoons such as Kastmaster), and spinners (manufacturers include Mepps, Blue Fox, SPRO, and ACME). Hybrid lures, known as spinnerbaits, combine elements of a spinnerbait and a jig. Artificial lures create noise and visual effects, provoking predators to attack. All lures are classified by diving depth, play style, and color.
Spinning lures can also be natural, also called "live bait." This is a small fish threaded through a hook. This ensures the hook remains firmly in the lure. This method is used in float or trolling.
Baits.
Baits include wheat, corn, barley, peas, beans, lupines, boilies, pellets, and dough.
Baits attract attention to a fishing spot. They are used in both spinning and bottom ice fishing. Semolina porridge, breadcrumbs, or technoplankton are used as bait.
