Welcome to this comprehensive AutoCAD tutorial where I guide you step by step on how to draw a 2-bedroom house floor plan in both 2D This tutorial is ideal for beginners and professionals who want to improve their skills in architectural design using AutoCAD.

We start by drawing the floor plan's outline in 2D using the Line command and rectangle tools and arc , a foundational tool in AutoCAD. Next, we employ Offset, Trim Entities, Extend, and Erase commands to refine the layout. These tools are essential for creating precise and accurate designs.

To convert the 2D floor plan into a 3D model, I demonstrate the use of the Polysolid tool. This tool simplifies the 3D modeling process by allowing you to input the wall height and width (set to 6 inches in this tutorial) for quick and efficient construction.

After generating the 3D model, I use the Extr,,act Edges command to obtain the edge outlines of the 3D structure. By deleting unwanted edges, we retain only the top view, representing the walls' thickness. Further adjustments are made using the Trim and Extend commands for clean and precise edges.

I then proceed to insert Doors using the 3-Point Arc tool and Windows using the Rectangle tool. These methods are straightforward and effective for creating openings in the floor plan. The walls are hatched while keeping the windows visible, ensuring clarity in the final design.

For labeling, I insert Text into small circles and group them to represent doors (D) and windows (W). Windows are further emphasized by using a six-sided polygon for clarity. Each room is labeled with its respective name for easy identification.

Here is a breakdown of the 3-bedroom house plan:

Entrance: The main entryway leading to the sitting room.

Sitting Room: A spacious living area connected to a common toilet labeled "Toilet."

Main Bedroom: Located on the right side with two windows and an ensuite toilet and bathroom.

Two Additional Bedrooms: Situated on the right side, each with similar features to the main bedroom.

Dining Room: Positioned directly in front of the sitting room.

Kitchen: Located adjacent to the dining room for easy access.

Store: Found on the right of the kitchen for storage purposes.

Sit-Out Area: Located to the left of the kitchen, ideal for outdoor relaxation.

This tutorial covers various essential AutoCAD features, including:

2D Commands: Line, Offset, Trim, Extend, Erase, and Hatch

3D Commands: Polysolid and Extract Edges

Text and Annotation Tools: Adding labels for doors, windows, and rooms

Custom Shapes: Creating arcs, rectangles, and polygons for architectural details

By the end of this video, you'll have a complete 3-bedroom floor plan and the knowledge to use AutoCAD effectively for similar projects. This tutorial is suitable for architects, civil engineers, interior designers, and anyone passionate about architectural design.
