TIME ENTRY EDITS for Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM Project Services
We ran into an issue for a client where when you click the edit button it was not working and you got a business process flow error.
The problem was in the Flow name. This is how you fix it.
Go to the Time Entry edit. Then go to the Time Entry in the solution – click on controls. There is a control for each (show as) tab, (in the Team Entry Grid) there are a variety of properties that are set.
The problem was in the Cell Edit Task Flow. This one was not populating in the clients instance. So we fixed the line of text and then we did not have any more issues.
EXTERNAL URL LINK TO A SITEMAP (DYNAMICS 365 CRM and SHAREPOINT)
A client wanted to link to documentation and wanted it in their sitemap. The problem is you can go into the option and enter in a URL but you get a cross domain error since it is CRM and SharePoint. This has been a challenge on different projects due to the different domains. We were able to figure this out.
GENERATING REPORTS IN CRM
Found a way to generate a reports form in the navigation. (SSRS reports). In the past plug-ins were not working so we had to do it with java script. Took a lot of time for this work around. We now have a way to do it through plug-ins which is a great resource for future clients. It is a lot faster and easier.
BUSINESS RULES
If you have a business rule that are not working and activated this can be a challenge. The solution to this challenge is to check and see if all of the business rules are showing up on the form. We found once we remove the missing field on the form we were then able to get the business rule to work correctly.
SMART CONNECT IN CRM
Trying to integrate contacts from Dynamics 365 business central back into CRM. We ran the integration and the system said (duplicate found). This was frustrating. We knew this was incorrect because we knew it was unique. After some research we found that was due to duplicate detection rules in CRM. If you see something like that make sure to go in and turn off or disable that rule.
DYNAMICS 365 CRM DATA IMPORTS – EXPORT TO EXCEL USING MULTI-SELECT OPTION FIELDS
You can update multiple values if you get the item ID and then separate with semicolons in the excel export. You are now at least able to update data sets in the Multi-Select Option fields.
