Transcript:
A video meme posted to Twitter by the user Ryan the Gray which includes the cat jam Twitch emote, Donald Trump, and President Elect Joe Biden singing and dancing to the Finnish folk song Ievan Polkka. The original video was a viral sensation in and of itself performed and posted in 2019 getting almost 2 million views in a year by the visually impaired street drummer and singer Bilal Goregen. His performance went viral when combined with a cat bobbing it's head along to the music, known on the internet as CatJam. It was featured on PewDiePie's meme review which has further boosted it's popularity lending the site of the recording to be considered a meme landmark.

CatJam was originally posted to TikTok by the user Micklagi showing his friends cat Minette "dancing" to the EDM song "I Wanna Dance" by Jonas Blue, and was originally recorded as he beatboxed while pressing Minette's head to the beat. This was admitted in an interview with the publication Know Your Meme which recently made their own breakdown video on CatJam which you should watch for more info.

The song "Ievan polkka" (Savo Finnish for "Ieva's Polka") was written by a couplet writer active in 1920-1930 by the name of Eino Kettunen. The lyrics which take the point of view of a young man and Ieva/Eva/Eeva in Finnish, who sneaks away to where everyone is dancing to a polka, and dances all night. The lyrics are suggestive in nature. The melody has even deeper roots and can be traced back to the Viipuri Province in the 17th century. Historic performances can be seen here in this compilation video by otakuking69. A performance of the song by the Finnish quartet Loituma was selected as the ensemble of the year at the 1997 Kaustinen Folk Music Festival. This rendition is a certified bop and reached even greater popularity when it was combined with a flash animation of a protagonist of the Shonen Jump manga Bleach, Orihime Inoue spinning a leek.

This was known as leekspin or Loituma Girl, gaining popularity in 2006 originally posted on Russian LiveJournal. There is a flash website set up that marks your time for how long you've viewed the video, unfortunately this will no longer be supported at the end of 2020. Leekspin was so popular it was even discussed on PRI's The World hosted by Marco Werman "This is basically a joke for someone who spends all of their time staring at a computer, made by people who spend all of their time staring at a computer. It's possible to read deeper meanings into it, but it sort of defeats the purpose because in the end it's just this hypnotic clip of animation." This success led to it's popularity as a ringtone, and many other variations and remixes of the song. One notable example would be the version included in the 2009 Rhythm game Hatsune Miku: Project Diva. And another would be Dolly's Song by Holly Dolly. Holly Dolly is an animated pop musician whose debut single "Dolly Song (Ieva's Polka)" was internationally successful in the Summer of 2006. Holly Dolly is an animated, singing female donkey from Italy.

In the original video meme, Donald Trump and Joe Biden have been added with Biden's face super imposed over Goregen's face and Trump dancing to his music in the background.
