Monitor and control your Alert Indoor Camera remotely, with the “Swann Security app”.
Given that the app gets updated as frequently as weekly, instructions on the video will match the app at the time of this video’s publication, but the overall instructions on the process are still useful.
For the latest instructions on the Swann Security app, you can always access the manual via the app itself by or go to support.swann.com and search for “swann security”.
Using the app is virtually identical on an IOS device and an Android device. We’ll show you some features on an IOS device and you’ll be able to follow along for either type of device.
Tap the “Live view” icon to view live video from your devices.
The number of bars indicate WI-FI strength. If you have fewer than two bars, it may be advisable to try move the camera around to find better signal.
Scroll up or down to see other cameras.
You’ll see the cameras name below each channel.
Double tap a camera to watch its feed on a separate single camera screen, where you can also:
• Take a snapshot with the camera
• Manually start or stop recording a video clip
• Turn on and off the Spotlight Outdoor Cameras spotlights
• Tap the microphone to turn on 2-way audio and speak to visitors. Then tap again to turn it off.
• Tap the bell icon to turn on or off the camera's built-in siren.
• Tap it twice to disable it if it’s been triggered. By a motion or sound event.
Tap the playback icon to review recording events.
Tap the left or right arrows to view the previous or following day or month's events for all of
your devices currently online.
Filter and sort events displayed on the video timeline to help you quickly find specific events that you
want to review, by showing a smaller subset of events.
Events can be filtered by device type and time period, and sorted from oldest to newest, or newest to oldest.
Each event dot shows the time the event was recorded. Scroll up or down to see more events.
Tap the Bin icon to delete the event and the recorded video. Once an event has been deleted,
it cannot be recovered.
Tap the event thumbnail to playback the recorded video clip.
Tap the “Notification button” to access the notification screen.
Tap the “Clear” button to clear all the notifications.
Tap here to enable or disable push notifications.
To receive push notifications from Swann Security, you must allow Swann Security to access notifications on your phone. Go to :
• Settings
• Notifications
• Swann Security
• Then toggle Allow Notifications On
The Notifications area displays the history of device activity while the Swann Security app is open in the foreground of your phone. Scroll up or down to view more notifications, sorted by date and time.
