Not much to show here, but just a reminder to look up occasionally.
Designed by Henrik Böhm and Ármin Hegedüs in 1906, this is one of those great reminders.
To embrace the spirit of discovery and pay attention to details on your random walks through life.
If you don’t look up while crossing the nearby intersection, you could completely miss it.
There are signs of influence of French Art Nouveau in its forms and patterns.
But the masterpiece of art at the top of The Turkish bank House actually a fine example of the Hungarian Art Nouveau.
This mosaic was created using very modern techniques for the time.
This includes a glass and iron facade, with a monumental mosaic created by Hungarian master of glass Miksa Róth.
The mosaic is named Patrona Hungariae, and it is an anthropomorphic depiction of Hungary as a woman.
She’s surrounded by great figures in Hungarian history.
In Budapest, of all places, with so much artwork over doorways and on the rooftops.
