📝 Step-by-Step Instructions:
Copy on the Same Layer: Ensure your target layer (e.g., landuse) is set to editable and editing tools are active. Right-click the chosen map object, select Copy, right-click an empty area, and select Paste to duplicate it.
Select from Another Layer: When editing tools are on, selection is restricted to the active layer. To select objects from a different layer (e.g., landuse_new), first clear your current selection and turn the editing tools off.
Copy Background Objects: With the editing tools disabled, freely click on the features from your source layer, right-click, and choose Copy.
Prepare the Target Layer: To paste these objects back into your original layer, you must re-enable the editing tools for that specific target layer. This is a mandatory condition for pasting data.
Paste and Confirm: Right-click on the map area and select Paste. A confirmation dialog window will pop up to show you the number of objects being moved and the destination layer. Click OK to complete the transfer!
