Hi, dear subscribers!
Here's a video of the newest v092b.
I've finally started producing 4K video, I hope you like the results :)
It features animations for Huawei, non-destructive filters, external editor integration, Google fonts and much more!
This is a very simple watchface, it was made just to illustrate how animations work. I'm not showing off my skills in watchface making, I'm showing how Facemaker, my software, works.
To use animations, you have to be in enhanced build mode (available for GT2, HMW2 or above).
You simply insert a Frame By Frame widget (available in the Background container) and import an animated GIF or PNG, or a set of images.
Facemaker processes the images and creates the animation for you.
Non-destructive image filters are now featured too and they're shown on the video.
You can simply stack them and if you don't like the result, no problem, the original image was kept safe and you can just delete the filters and return to the original image.
All image widgets are now editable in your favorite graphics editor, without ever leaving Facemaker.
Remember to define the path of your graphics editor executable (Photoshop.exe, Gimp.exe) on Preferences.
Huawei GT2 Pro and Huawei Fit have also been included on this release, although there's still a problem with Fit, Text widgets don't work because I still don't know the fonts it uses. In the meanwhile, use Image Sets and Image Combos.
I'll get there eventually.
On your first run, Facemaker will ask you if you want to download Google fonts, to use in your projects.
More than 1000 fonts will be downloaded to your facemaker/google folder, and all you have to do afterwards is to import the ones you like on Preferences-»Fonts.
Remember you can only use custom fonts on Image Sets, Image Combos and Artistic TextArea widgets, not Text widgets (these use the firmware fonts, installed on the watch).
Amazfit now has alignment and margin settings for Image Combos, so very little is left to implement to call it final.
I'd like to thank all supporters but especially the donators. They've made this project possible, allowing me to dedicate more of my time to it and they deserve all my praise.
Fortunately, there are people who still support indie software and it's thanks to them that we're still programming and feeling motivated.
I hope you guys like this version, we're approaching 1.0, which will mark Facemaker transition to a commercial version. From now on, there's no more free version available (v085b), but you may find it on another sources, after all, I shared it for more than a year.
Instead, I'll make a demo version available, which will support Huawei and Amazfit watches. While limited, it'll still allow you all to experience what Facemaker has to offer.
Supported watches are all listed on the Facemaker site: https://facemaker.pt
Supported operating systems: Windows 7/8/10, Linux (MacOS on Parallels or VM).
