In this video, I show you How To Use Google Fonts with Photoshop and Illustrator on Windows and Mac.

Google Fonts are awesome to use on websites, they’re free to use and the library of fonts available will provide you with more options than you will likely ever need, for free.

Now if you’re a graphic designer and want to use Google Fonts in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator without having to use a Plugin, then the next few easy tips are for you.

First thing you need to do is go to google fonts website. Then search for the font that you want to use.

Then select the font. From there you will want to download the font to your computer or mac. Then you will have a zip file in your downloads folder.

Extract the zip file by either double clicking on a mac or by clicking the zip file once on a PC and then in the top file explorer bar where it says Compressed Folder Tools then Extract all.

Either way you will get a new folder. Enter the folder and copy all the ttf files to your clipboard.

If you can’t see the file extensions on a PC then do this step.
On windows pc’s in the file explorer, click the view icon and then check the box for File name extensions.

Now on a Mac, highlight all the ttf files and right click and choose open with Font Book, then in the popup, click the install button.

On a windows PC copy the ttf files to your clipboard and in the file explorer go to your C: Drive then Windows Folder and then enter the Fonts folder and paste them there.

Once you’ve done this, start Photoshop or illustrator and the fonts should be ready to use.

That's how to install and use Google fonts on Windows and Mac so you can use them with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Have fun.
