So I was having some issues with my 7700k and the Asus z270i itx gaming motherboard that I was kind of looking for a reason to switch but couldn’t justify spending any more money.

Thankfully the 7700k and motherboard held their value relatively well and sold easily for about $400 Australian dollars and at the same time the Black Friday sales were about to start and eBay was doing a 20% off deal on some pc components.

So I picked up a Ryzen 2600 and Asus ROG Strix x370 itx motherboard for around $350 so I actually saved a little bit of money and will use that towards upgrading my ram down the track.

Now the real reason why I switched to Ryzen is this, I know I’m going to be losing some FPS in the games I play but tbh I rarely play games competitively and over 60fps and with this chip at 1080p or 1440p with my RX 580 will be fine.

But lately, I'm finding myself gaming a lot less and editing and streaming a lot more and the 7700k was being choked a bit. So that's why I switched to Ryzen.

Ryzen 5 2600 has slightly lower clock speeds but 4 more cores for exporting video and handling the task of gaming and streaming simultaneously.

So if you’re running an older gen Intel and are in a similar scenario to me I would highly recommend checking out the 2nd gen Ryzen CPU’s.

Cheers, see you in the next video!
