BEST melee XP in OSRS: Sulphur Naguas
Naguas offer of the best AFK melee XP in the game.
Requirements:
Completion of Perilous Moons
38 Herblore (to make moonlight potions)
43 Prayer (to use protect from melee)
48 Slayer (Perilous moons quest)
Flat armour:
Naguas have -4 flat armour. This means you will deal +4 damage on each successful hit. When using dual-handed weapons such as Dual Macuahuitl or Glacial Temotli/Sulphur Blades, you could deal 8 EXTRA damage on each attack cycle (as you get 2 hit splats instead of 1).
Best gear (best XP/hr):
Full blood moon with Dual Macuahuitl offers the best XP at Naguas.
Wear a torture amulet if you can afford it. Otherwise, fury, or a glory. Amulet of strength is slightly worse here than the glory and also lacks +3 prayer.
Dragon boots, fire cape, god blessing, and berserker ring (i).
Prayer gear (best AFK-time/hr):
To increase AFK time, wear prayer boosting gear such as Sunfire or Proselyte. Aim for 30+ prayer bonus to half your prayer drain.

Helm: Neitiznot (3 prayer), Proselyte sallet (4 prayer), sunfire (6 prayer)
Cape: Fire cape (2 prayer), skillcape (4 prayer)
Necklace: Torture (2 prayer), Fury (5 prayer), Glory (3 prayer)
Plate: Proselyte (8 prayer), sunfire (10 prayer)
Legs: Proselyte (6 prayer), sunfire (8 prayer)
Boots: devout (5 prayer)
Blessing: god blessing (1 prayer), rada's blessing 4 (2 prayer)
Moonlight potions:
Inside the Neypotzli dungeon we can make moonlight potions with 38 Herblore. This allows us to no bring any food/potions inside. These potions function as both combat & prayer potions in one. The boost you get from them is dependent on your Herblore level. The higher your Herblore, the better the boost and the better your XP/hr will be.
