How to Delete a Website from Google Suggested Search | How to Remove a Site from Auto-Complete
Isn’t it annoying when you become haunted by a website appearing automatically in your Google search box or the web address bar in Google Chrome? That prefilling magic is officially called Google Suggest and I was followed around relentlessly by a site with a very similarly name to Google’s Calendar site. Typically I would type in cal... and calendar.google.com would pop right up. However this site’s name was Calendars That Work, which you can imagine conflicts with Google’s Calendar URL, which I use daily. It was driving me nuts.
The method to remove the offending link is easy:
1. Go up to the three dots, top left, in Google Chrome, pop down to History, then History again (or hit Ctrl – H)
2. Find the site you’d like to remove from your history
3. Go to the right of its link and hit the 3 vertical dots again
4. Choose Remove from History
Give your search a try and then rejoice when it’s gone.
