Movie Criticism Is Dead
With big studios making franchises out of anything that makes money, the game has really changed for film critics and sites like Rotten Tomatoes. These huge properties seem to have so many loyal fans now that even remotely pointing out obvious flaws in a film sends people up! Movie critics used to have a useful purpose for a lot of people but now it seems they just want to hear what makes them happy. Often now, Rotten Tomatoes is used to point out the audience score and not the critical reaction. People want to feel good about the movies they like and don't want to hear criticism of any kind.
