Hello and welcome to 80/20’s product highlight series. Today we’re going to take a look at furniture and base glides. These glides can easily add feet to any project and allow you to slide projects over the floor without scratching the surface. They’re available in both fractional and metric, and compatible across a wide range of profile series.
They can be mounted with our without a base plate. If you choose to use a base plate, a bolt assembly is required. Otherwise, your profile will need an end tap in the end of it, to mount the glide directly to the bar. Now in this example we are going to mount our glide directly to the bar. We’ll go ahead and thread it right into the end tap, and we’ll thread that in until we get to the desired height that we want. Now it’s worth noting that the large glides have a stem that swivels 15 degrees in any direction. That’s going to give you flexibility when it comes to uneven surfaces. Now it’s also worth noting that they have a small indent in the base that you can punch out and anchor them to the ground.
