What is antimatter - and why did it vanish from the universe?
In this calming long-form documentary, we break down the real physics of antimatter: what antiparticles actually are, why matter and antimatter annihilate on contact, and how the early universe created equal amounts of both. The Big Bang should have produced a cosmos of pure light - no atoms, no stars, no planets, no life. But a tiny asymmetry, roughly one part in a billion, allowed matter to survive while antimatter was almost entirely destroyed. That surplus is everything you see today. Every galaxy, every star, every atom in your body exists because the laws of physics aren't quite perfectly symmetric. We explain pair production, E=mc², CP violation, the Sakharov conditions, and why the Standard Model of particle physics still can't fully account for the matter-antimatter imbalance. The answer points to undiscovered physics - and experiments at CERN and neutrino observatories around the world are searching for it right now.
