Bad parking. An icicle went right through the windshield and roof!
I pulled up to my building and, as always, ran into a problem: there were no free parking spaces. I found the only one, parked, and was just about to get out of the car when a homeowners association employee approached me and asked me to move the car, explaining that they were going to knock down icicles. I told him I'd be right back, to which he replied, "I warned you."
When I returned a few minutes later, I found three homeowners association employees standing next to my car. A huge icicle had penetrated my windshield, completely piercing it. Confused, I asked, "What happened?" and received a calm answer: "It fell from the ninth floor." After inspecting the car, I noticed that only the windshield was damaged. I breathed a sigh of relief, as the roof hadn't been damaged, and I was planning to replace the windshield anyway.
One of the employees removed the icicle from the windshield, I got in the car, and was about to leave. At that moment, another employee advised, "Leave quickly, or else something else will hit you." Before I could close the door, there was a deafening roar—a second giant icicle had crashed through the car's roof.
This was the unexpected spring "gift" that awaited me.
