Ethical Use of AI for Academic Writing and Research
Is it OK to use AI for help with research essays? In this lesson, I break research and writing into four steps: 1) Background Research; 2) Primary Research; 3) Academic Writing, and 4) Proofreading and formatting. In each case, I show how AI tools are being used, and then I offer a determination on whether or not it's ethical to use AI tools for these purposes. This lesson is designed primarily for university students and instructors, but it is also beneficial to anyone who wants to better understand the benefits of risks of using AI for academic work.
