School curricula have come a long way in recent years in recognising sexual and gender diversity - but they rarely involve more than a passing reference and are often presented under the clinical title of sex ed.
We think it's time for that to change.
To do this we are creating a video series which captures the lives of young LGBT people. We'll illustrate their school lives, their weekend adventures and their hopes for the future. We'll include the basic stuff, the boring stuff, the things that every young person has to do. The aim? To show young Australians that their LGBT friends are no different from themselves.
Our video series and accompanying lesson plans will allow any teacher, in any school to confidently inform students about the way the world is - diversity and all.
