How I Wind Yarn Onto My Basque Spindle (Txoatile Spindle)
The Basque spindle or Txaotile spindle originates from Spain as far as my research goes (the Basque Community). Some original versions of the spindle had the little duck-like head at the top and others are just a post without a notch or hook. I rather like the duck neck - makes him rather charming.
The whorl can be placed mid-shaft or at the bottom of the shaft, based on your preference and the size of the hole in the whorl.
