We're tackling food insecurity with the 'Hunger Freeze' FOOD DRIVE!
Algoma University has partnered with amazing community members to support local food pantries through The City of Sault Ste. Marie Bon Soo Polar Bear Swim with the “Hunger Freeze” food drive campaign ❄️
Now more than ever, food insecurity is on the rise, and people in our community need our support. Through the Hunger Freeze, Algoma U is asking the Sault Ste. Marie community to donate canned goods for those in need.
Donations will be shared between the AUSU Food Pantry and local pantries in need. There are locations across the community to donate, both on campus and at amazing local businesses!
Here’s how it works: One food item equals $2, and if we hit 10, 000 food items, our very own President and Vice-Chancellor Asima Vezina will TAKE THE PLUNGE! 🥶🌊
The more you donate, the more people participate. As donations come in, we will update our thermometer, and keep you up-to-date on who is participating🌡
Donation locations include:
📍 George Leach Centre
📍 President’s Office at AU
📍 The Breakfast Pig
📍 Metro Northern Avenue
📍 Giordano Fades
📍 Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre
📍 Interfor
Can’t get to any of these places? That is OK, you can donate online here 📲 https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/m/7...
